Her path began with a personal experience that led her to a deep exploration of medicinal plants. Over time, curiosity grew into serious, devoted work, built through years of learning, hands-on experience, and direct contact with plants.

In her studies, she drew on important works of traditional herbalism, among them the knowledge of Father Simon Ašič and Maria Treben, and deepened her knowledge further at lectures by Father Jože Kukman, Father Simon Ašič's successor, and Jože Majes of Kmetija Plavica.

Over the decades she came to know an exceptionally wide range of Slovenian medicinal and aromatic plants.

Her knowledge wasn't built from books alone. It was built in meadows, gardens, and forests — recognizing plants, choosing the right moment to pick them, and learning how to clean, dry, and prepare them.

When the home garden became too small, she started picking herbs across the wider Gorenjska region, mostly around Rateče. The whole family helps her.

When picking season comes, several generations gather. Dragica leads, the rest of us help: we pick, clean, cut, and dry the herbs, and Dragica then turns them into the products that make up Kmetija pr' Dragic today.

Much of this process still relies on manual work and on Dragica's knowledge, passed down through the family over decades.

Dragica's knowledge is what shapes our herbal teas, tinctures, balms, and other herbal blends.

Through it all, she stays true to the foundation her work is built on: knowing the plant well, respecting nature, and understanding how to work with it.

Every product is therefore her work — carrying her knowledge and experience.
